First off, the title of my blog was inspired by Micah 6:8 which says, "He has shown you what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." It lays out pretty plain and simple what the Lord requires of us all. My favorite movie of all time is a documentary called "One Nation Under God" and in this movie there is a man that does some spoken word poetry and he quotes this scripture. It gives me chills every time I watch it!
Anyways, I've been spending the last week in and out of school. The weather has been crazy! We had school Monday, then Tuesday and Wednesday it was called off, then Thursday we went back to school, now it's Friday and no school again! It's like a mini winter break and I love it! Although, I do not love the fact we will have to make these days up sometime...bleh! One thing that I have always loved about the snow is how it makes everything quieter. Seriously! Go outside when there's a fresh blanket of fluffy white snow laying on the ground and try not to be amazed by how quiet it is!
One bummer about the snow, though, is that the golf tournament that we were supposed to go to in San Angelo this weekend got canceled. :( Very sad because it was a two day tournament and those are the best! Our Varsity Golf team is a very tight knit group. Makenlee, who is my best friend, and Morgan, who is a very funny gal, always find a way to make us laugh. Kinsey loves to give hugs and is always cracking corny jokes that I don't get half the time...but that is why I love her! Macie is a sweetheart and can be just as crazy as the rest of us at times. And then there's Coach Martin, aka "Mom". We love her so much! She's hilarious and always finds herself laughing with us! I'm gonna miss that lady when I leave.
Right now, God is doing so much in my life! It's exciting and scary all at the same time. I know that He is calling me to be a worship leader and so now I'm left with deciding how I'm going to make His plan for me work. I'm planning on attending Texas A&M in the fall and starting out in General Studies. After that I haven't a clue as to what my future holds. There are two schools that I know about that have amazing Worship Leader programs and focus on turning out great Worship Leaders for churches. There's one called New Life School of Worship in Colorado Springs, CO which is where the band Desperation Band comes from. The other one is not as close to home. It's called Hillsong International Leadership College and it is in Australia. Yeah I know...my parents were shocked too! But they both have great programs and so now all I can do is continue to pray about which one is right for me.
God is also working in me about something else as well. I won't go into details because it's still between God and me and lately it's become quite complicated, but your prayers would be greatly appreciated.
Well, I hope I have not bored you to tears! If you need anything, a prayer request, a joy to share, someone to talk to, anything, please do not hesitate to let me know! I will leave with this: God, I pray for each person that has read this today. Father I ask that you would bless them and be with them. Please be their comforter and strength throughout this day. Any trials they may be facing, God, I ask that you give them clarity on how to overcome this time. I rejoice with them in their joys, and share tears with them in their hard times. Continue to work in each of our lives, that we may all be a light for you in this world. I ask all this in your precious and holy name. Amen
